Sportsman Boats Mfg. Pre-Mill Construction Carpenter in Summerville, South Carolina
Sportsman Boats, is looking for a Pre-Mill Construction Carpenter who will work with the milling operations team in the fabrication of wood and foam plugs and plug builds. These plugs are a vital part in the production of Sportsman Boat's new product lines.
What you will do:
Assist in set up of 5 axis machines for milling large complex parts
Fabricate large wood platforms for new plug builds
Work with EPS foam, tooling board and other composites to construct plugs to be milled
Follow CAD drawing specifications for detailed foam layouts
Work with chemicals including epoxy putty, spray glue and 2-part foam
Operate a fork lift
Keep work area clean and organized at all times
Follow safety standards at all times
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
What you need to have:
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and work instructions
Possess good mechanical aptitude, good manual dexterity, knowledge of tools and their use
Experience with carpentry operating air/hand tools, drills, saws, and grinders
Task oriented, demonstrated ability to learn, work independently, and under instruction as needed
Strong attention to detail
Comprehension of chemicals used in this process
Good eye sight
Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Able to work overtime when necessary
