Description

SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV to support the U.S. Navy at the Lake Glendora Test Facility in Sullivan, IN .

JOB DESCRIPTION

• This position serves as a technical specialist performing development, evaluation, modification, installation, maintenance, operations, or testing of complete electronic systems of complex nature.

• Plans approach to complex problems, exercising considerable judgment in making sound engineering compromises and decisions.

• Consults with project engineers, middle management from within NSWC and contractors to exchange information, coordinate on projects and resolve complex engineering and administrative problems.

• Workload is based on the collection of data from energetic testing events. The person in this position will have to maintain an explosive certification, explosive driver's license, and Explosive Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to maintain job duties.

• It's expected that explosive knowledge will grow and contribution to the team will advance overtime.

• UAS pilots license with the ability to adapt to new requirements on a daily basis.

• Provide troubleshooting support and technical expertise to ensure continued operation of test equipment located at the Lake Glendora Test Facility.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of work experience

• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim secret needed to start; SAIC to sponsor the clearance process

• Must agree to participate in a random drug screen program

• Must meet requirements for Explosives Certification Program

• Must be willing to obtain a UAS pilot license

• Must be self-motivated and effectively complete tasking in a timely manner with limited supervision

• Able to effectively communicate with customers and provide accurate testing cost and schedule estimates based on customer requirements and test equipment capabilities.

DESIRED

• Active Secret Clearance is preferred
