ABM Industries Lead, HR Data Compliance & Quality in Sugar Land, Texas

Overview

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, HRIS & Data Governance, this role will partner closely with Enterprise Data Governance in Information Technology to align and implement data governance processes, policies, and standards for HR. You will be responsible for maintaining the data and analytics governance framework to control, protect, and enhance the value of data and information assets throughout the hire to retire lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Partnering and collaborating extremely closely with the HR COEs, this role establishes and maintains cross-functional collaboration within HR, as well as groups outside of HR (E.g. Legal, Enterprise Data Governance, Information Technology, Information Security etc.) to ensure data is properly managed across the hire to retire processes.

  • Recognized as an expert in data governance, proactively helps to drive the strategy, planning and execution of solutions to govern data policy and standards, data quality, master data management standards and practices, and data ownership across the HR organization.

  • Disrupt status quo and identify process and compliance improvement opportunities. Responsible for process improvement, including evaluating existing processes and procedures, providing recommendations for changes and improvements, and implementing. Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes and partner with HR Information Technology.

  • Accountable for statutory compliance and SOX internal controls and processes for all people related matters. Ensures that all company related administrative forms, reports, processes, and audits are completed accurately, timely and in compliance with relevant local, state, federal and provincial regulations for audits and compliance.

  • maintain the HR data quality scorecard with the HRIT/Enterprise Data Governance to manage HR data quality and governance. Liaise with the HR Shared Services, HR Compliance, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Field HR to maintain data quality across hire to retire processes.

  • Extensive experience of data governance experience in HR, with a good understanding of its business processes. Strong storytelling, communication, and presentation skills for all levels of stakeholders, especially keeping non-data experts and leadership aware, engaged, and supportive in the complex world of data.

  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets, and approaches related to data integrity. Familiarity with data management lifecycle best practices, standards, and policies.

  • Help formulate and manage HR Master Data Strategies and Roadmaps, while ensuring initiatives are aligned with overall HR priorities and goals. In conjunction, ensure milestones are mapped out for deliverables and are communicated accordingly throughout the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or years of experience with 8+ years’ of related experience in human resources, change management or business controls.

  • Must be able to demonstrate effective consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change, and performance measurement system design.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously; integrate strategic thinking with tactical implementation.

  • Knowledge and experience in data governance tools and solutions. Subject matter expertise and the ability to shape and influence the way things are done. Ability to self-direct and take on broad projects from beginning to end. Knowledge of HR data and privacy regulations and practices.

  • A thought leader with strong project management, analytical, time management and prioritization skills. A growth mindset, expertly balancing necessary controls and processes with speed and simplicity.

  • A thought leader with a strong work ethic that models a sense of urgency, curiosity, and desire to get things done.
