Akima Project Manager in Suffolk, Virginia
Akima Systems Engineering is looking for an Electrical Engineer to manage systems for the US Coast Guard's C5I Service Center.
Responsibilities
Provides project management professional services for smaller projects or task orders, providing leadership and is responsible for project direction through successful performance of a variety of detailed, diverse elements of project management tasks.
Directs completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints.
Schedules and assigns duties to subordinates and ensures assignments are completed as directed.
Interfaces with Government representatives and reports to the Program Manager on project progress/status and various issues or problems.
Coordinates services supporting hardware and software system development using a variety of system development methodologies including Agile.
Program/contract management; technical guidance and oversight; supervision of design, development, and implementation of complex computer systems; business area analysis; project planning; coordination of resources (including subcontractor management); project status reporting; and performance measurement and reporting.
Manages the day-to-day activities for a moderately complex Technical or non-technical project.
Manages the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
May conduct performance/project analyses to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited University in the field of Business, Law, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of C4IT engineering/logistics support and/or management.
Must have current Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified associate in project management (CAPM) certificate.
A Secret clearance in required.

102K-103k
