Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff INTERAGENCY JOINT EXERCISE PLANNER in Suffolk, Virginia

Summary This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, executing, and evaluating all operational components of interagency interaction/replication in all assigned Joint Staff lead and supported exercises throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle. Responsibilities As a INTERAGENCY JOINT EXERCISE PLANNER at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides advice to the Chief, Interagency Branch on the conduct of training and exercises that involve aspects of the interagency process. Plans, develops, coordinates, executes and evaluates all components of interagency interaction/replication in assigned exercises throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC). Integrates and coordinates all interaction with the training audience as the Interagency Cell Chief or Deputy. Provides advice to command leadership on the conduct of training and exercises that involve aspects of the interagency process. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Planning and developing components of interagency interaction in exercises throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC). Coordinating interagency interactions with the training audience during event executions. Managing U.S. Government, military operations, and contracting teams for joint training exercises and scenarios. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
