The Host Based Security System (HBSS) Support System Administrator will facilitate the delivery of HBSS Subject Matter Expert (SME) tracking/artifacts/documentation to the HBSS Overarching Project Management to the Team Lead or designated representative in support of Defensive Cyber Operation for the US Navy at Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command in Suffolk VA.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Navy Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) collection system server and systems configurations (hardware and software) to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

  • Administers server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, and messaging, and performs systems monitoring.

  • Consults on network, application, and customer service issues to support computer systems’ security and sustainability.

  • Escalate issues/problems to support solution development.

  • Report compliance status IAW Navy mandates, and management direction.

  • Manage ticketing system.

  • Monitor/Analyze ePO rollup event feeds and respond/report IAW-approved Navy TTPs/SOPs.

  • Troubleshoot HBSS product issues and outages.

  • Review of HBSS threat event

  • Maintain a neat, secure, and orderly facility.

  • Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures, as required.

  • Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.

  • Travel up to 10% as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 7+ years of IT experience.

  • 2+ years previous helpdesk experience.

  • Current CompTIA Security+ required to start.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

  • General Service (GENSER)/Secret clearance required to start.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience in working with the McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention System.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint products.

  • McAfee HBSS ePO administration experience.

  • Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) server working knowledge.

  • Ability to work in a team setting, as well as independently.

  • Self-starter: identify issues and create an action plan for resolution.

  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to concurrently manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% as requested.

  • Flexible on Shift work. 7 am-3:30 pm OR 3:30 pm-12:00 am Eastern Standard Time.
