Summary:
The Director, medical group will provide leadership and have overall responsibility and accountability for providing strategic, operational, and fiscal direction and oversight for the Bon Secours Charity Health System Medical Group. The individual will work collegially and collaboratively with other Senior Executives and Physicians and Office leaders to achieve system goals. The Administrator of Operations reports directly to the SVP of Bon Secours Charity Health System (BSCHS).
Responsibilities:
Standardizes policies and practices across Physician Practice continuum as appropriate; articulates the Physician Practice program, philosophy, standards, and objectives in accordance with the overall system initiatives for strategic growth; assesses, evaluates, and develops services to fulfill the needs of the community as requested by organizational customers or individuals.
Functions as a role model and supervisor for Physician Practice leadership and office staff; ensures the coordination of a progressive program of development, education, compliance, safety, and training for leadership.
Demonstrates effective problem identification/solving skills in the overall development and administration of services. Directs staff to meet clinical quality standards; delegates responsibilities to appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure adequate professional and administrative direction and supervision of services.
Identifies and researches technology resources to enable growth and clinical excellence in Physician Practice Operations.
Responds to staffing, materials, and technology needs for patient care delivery to meet volume goals and patient outcomes.
Capable and skilled at bringing about quality, cost-sensitive, and patient-centered care delivery to ensure continued competitiveness in the service area and the region. Record of achievement in leading an organization in quality improvement initiatives.
The incumbent will establish, develop, and maintain productive working relationships with employed assuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, credentialing and system polices and processes.
Oversee Billing Manager for Medical Group and attend meetings as needed and required.
Responsible for participating and implementation of services as appropriate for local market, e.g., developing management service offerings for non-employed physicians to include managed care contract review, HIPPA compliance support, practice web site development, information technology support, and practice management capabilities (group purchasing, coding/billing services, recruitment assistance and sharing of performance measures).
Participates in development of strategic goal setting with all Physician Practice Managers; supports overall Physician Practice strategic initiatives related to system and packaging of services in an effort to grow the Physician Practice Operations in collaboration with system CEO.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective communication mechanisms with physicians within the Bon Secours Charity Medical Group.
Establishes relationships with key medical staff in respective business units in efforts to continue the expanded use of hospital services
Develops recruitment strategies with Physician Practice Managers to ensure staffing levels appropriate for volume needs. Ensures hiring of qualified employees; ensures labor laws and regulations are met in hiring and counseling of staff; reviews and responds to turnover and retention rates.
Selects, trains, motivates, supervises, and evaluates medical group staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal services to both internal and external customers.
Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.

10 years of medical group management experience required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
