Sturbridge Host Hotel + Conference Center Line Cook in Sturbridge, Massachusetts

The Sturbridge Host Hotel + Conference Center is centrally located in Sturbridge Massachusetts on beautiful Cedar Lake.  We offer 232 guest rooms, with 24 mini suites, 5 suites, along with 35,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Our guests also have access to our 3 on property dining options, The Greenhouse for breakfast, The Oxhead Tavern, with lakeside dining and VIP’s Lounge.  We also offer a variety of catering options for our events and functions, all produced by our dynamic kitchen team.

While this may sound impressive, what is even more impressive is our team of dedicated individuals working together to make our business a success.  At the beginning of 2020 we welcomed a new owner.  Seeing all the potential our property has to offer, renovations began.  We are upgrading our facility, modernizing our technology and working on new opportunities for our team and potential team members.

As a cook, you are part of the engine that powers this hotel and the restaurants, the person who actually makes the memories and food! Your position is the most intimate with the product being sold, as hands on work will never escape you in our kitchen. Your duties in the kitchen are plentiful as you will have non-stop tasks that you will be doing by yourself and as part of a team.

Line cooks are responsible for food preparation, prep work, cleaning, and customer service; by presenting the best product possible. 

If you can move at a fast pace, have a willingness to learn how to cook great food while keeping a smile on your face, and provide our team with support, this job is for you.

 

  • A willingness to learn new skills

  • A desire to promote the business and provide quality food

  • Good finger dexterity and a willingness to learn to use small tools and utensils adeptly

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

  • Ability to work with commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, torches, etc.

  • Contributes to a safe work environment by following proper safety guidelines in matters of attire, utilizing protective gear, and following safety procedures
