Product Development Lab Technician - Powder Coatings Strongsville, OH We are looking to add a Product Development Lab Technician - Powder Coatings within the Industrial Powder Coatings Performance Testing Group located in Strongsville, OH. If this sounds like you, you will be part of a team of 3 people in an ISO 17025 accredited testing group. As part of this role, you will perform equipment verification, catalog daily conditions checks, assist with calibrations, and reports to make sure we are testing within the proper limits. You will also be part of create reports for our industrial customers that have meaningful and impactful implications on shaping how they do business and build their products. You will work on-site in Strongsville, OH and report to the S&T Product Development Supervisor. Issue reports for completed projects to internal and external customers. Divide work among the three members of the team to maximize productivity. Communicate frequently with internal and external customers about status of testing projects and maintain a project tracker. Participate in ISO 17025 accreditation audits for the Strongsville testing group. Maintain environmental testing cabinets (salt spray, humidity, xenon, etc.), including scheduling maintenance and calibrations. Collaborate with other testing laboratories within PPG. Contract with outside testing laboratories for work not performed within PPG. Be an expert in a wide variety of specifications and test methods. Maintain a safe working environment. Participate in 5S activities and have a spirit of continuous improvement. Qualifications: HS diploma, GED, or similar is required. Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry or similar is preferred. Prior experience in performance testing, preferably in an ISO 17025 accredited lab. Proven ability to read and interpret complex customer specifications. Proven ability to understand, record and verbalize detailed information accurately.
