Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Electrical Design Intern. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development and support of elegant and safe aircraft avionic/electrical system solutions that exceed customer expectations for mission success. Electrical designers work on the design, packaging, and engineering oversight of electro-mechanical components and wiring within the air vehicle. Typical tasks include general arrangement drawings, equipment assembly design, equipment installation design, wiring installation design, and wire harness and molded harness design. The candidate will actively participate in the design of products, change management, support of manufacturing, support of production, and continuous improvement activities. As an intern you will have the opportunity to interact with Analysts, Material and Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers to drive designs to closure.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of component design and manufacturing, have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, have a basic understanding of electro-mechanical systems , be highly competitive and motivated to take ownership of commitments and meet objectives, and be capable of managing complex tasks and drive them to successful outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

- Pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office.

- Familiar with Engineering Software Tools (3D/2D CAD).

- Able to work Full time on site at Stratford, CT facility.

- Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

- Proficient with CATIA V5, 3DX.

- Strong “hands on” mechanical aptitude.

- Able to create tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.).

- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
