A Solutions Architect wear two major hats: a trusted entity within the customer’s organization and an advocate on behalf of the customer inside of AWS. Your responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.

As a more experienced Solutions Architect, you will be able to have conversations with leaders of companies about their strategy as well as with developers that are doing the implementation. This bridge between business and technology, and being a trusted advisor to the customer, is key to success as a Solutions Architect.

In the role of a Senior Solutions Architect, the most important work you do will be together with our customers. The ideal candidate will posses customer facing skills and the ability to have discussions with senior personnel within the company. As well, they have a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think structured about business, product, and technical challenges.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Run technical workshops and advise customers on architectural and strategic IT decisions

  • Educate customers on best practices to ensure their solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud

  • Work with other AWS teams to drive adoption and revenue

  • Capture and share knowledge with our broader Solution Architect community

  • Develop technical content (such as blog-posts, white papers and reference architectures) to convey best practices using AWS

  • Practice Thought Leadership for AWS at events, user groups, hackathons and online

  • Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience from working as a Solution Architect

  • Technical background

  • Structured way of working

  • Experience from cross team collaboration, internally as well as with external organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree, preferably in Computer Science

  • Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired

  • Experience from Cloud Application Architecture

  • Certification in Cloud Computing, i.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Certification
