The Red Lion Inn Prep Cook in Stockbridge, Massachusetts

Job Purpose: - Production and execution of food products that are the highest quality and consistency and ready to serve in a timely manner in a high-volume high production kitchen. - Maintain a clean and safe workstation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Food Production - Produce high quality food that adhere to the RLI standards - Work in an organized manner to ensure for timely preparation and service of food - Cross-train to work in all venues and stations - Continually produce a consistent product - Safety and Sanitation - Maintain a clean and safe work station - Follow standard operating procedures for food handling and sanitation - Store foods properly- Rotate and date product, follow storage guidelines for raw food and follow first-in first-out procedures Requirements: Experience: - At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced high-volume kitchen - Familiarity in cold prep/garde manger, grill and saut? stations a plus Education and certification: - Strong written and verbal understanding of English - Serve-Safe Certification a plus Specialized knowledge: - Must be able to read menus, orders/tickets, and recipes in English - Basic knowledge and use of kitchen equipment - Basic knowledge of safety and sanitation Skills: - Good knife skills - Basic knowledge of proper cooking techniques Character: - Models and Participates in teamwork at all times - Motivated to excel - Positive attitude, open to constructive feedback - Respectful to and mindful of all managers and staff in department, on property and within company - Acts as an agent to prioritize guest and staff satisfaction Physical: - Ability to bend, stoop, stand for long periods of time - Lift up to 50 pounds - Push carts weighing up to 150 pounds - Ability to work in hot conditions for long periods
