Job Summary The Oklahoma State University Library seeks an Architecture Librarian to lead the John Rex Cunningham Architecture Library. We desire someone who is creative, has a passion for learning and teaching, and is eager to drive their own projects, collaborate, innovate, and take on challenges. The Architecture Librarian is a member of the OSU Library faculty reporting to the Associate Dean for Special Collections. This is a tenure-track position with anticipated initial appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Responsibilities: As the Architecture Librarian, you will provide administrative oversight of the Cunningham Architecture Library. In addition to undertaking traditional library responsibilities such as reference, instruction, resource selection, and orientation, we seek an individual who can support the research initiatives and scholarly endeavors of the School as reflective of 21st century architectural practices; collaborate with School of Architecture colleagues on projects; demonstrate the advantages of open access resources; and, support Architecture and Architectural Engineering faculty in managing data and professional profiles using Symplectic Elements. Additionally, we require a librarian who is open to newer digital technologies, including virtual and mixed reality, and their application to research and pedagogy in architecture and architectural engineering. The successful candidate will develop creative projects and services reflecting priorities adopted by the OSU Libraries and the School of Architecture; supervise student assistants (directly or indirectly); administer the Cunningham Architecture Library budget; curate the School's physical "building materials" library: and participate in biweekly branch library meetings and monthly Architecture faculty meetings. Required Qualifications include: a masters or doctorate in library or information science; a minimum of one year relevant professional library experience; a demonstrated commitment to public and reference services; exceptional core competencies including leadership, communication, and organization; strong reference and analytical skills; and one or more of the following: a record of research, publications, presentations, or service to the profession. This is a 10-month appointment (August 1 -May 31) with a generous holiday schedule, health care plans, and retirement options.
