JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20875 JOB TITLE: Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness plays a mission critical role in enhancing the overall effectiveness of the institution by conducting research, analyzing data, and developing key performance indicators which guides the institution in its decision-making processes. In this role, the position also participates and acts as a leader for the institution in areas of data governance and ensuring analysis data integrity and security through policies and procedures. The Director works closely with university leadership, academic departments, and institutional business units to identify appropriate analytics and visualizations to address institutional questions and communicates these results to leadership and other audiences. This position supervises and directs two, full-time staff and reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. Shift: Office hours of 7:45am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Extended hours, including evening and weekends, may be required when it necessitates. Demonstrated experience with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI. At least 5 years of Higher Education experience in institutional research, data analysis, and strategic planning. Demonstrated understanding of data governance and management practices. Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Aptitude for identifying process inefficiencies, identifying solutions, and then successfully implementing and managing change. Demonstrated experience with SQL. Ability to work independently and collaborate with others. Working knowledge of standard business software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.,) and the internet. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Business). Progressively responsible experience with data warehousing/reporting in a higher education setting.
