About the role

The Business Analytics Analyst position will serve as the central point for evaluating, designing, compiling, aggregating, and producing analysis to support the Accident & Health business leaders in identifying value drivers and formulating action plans to improve growth and profitability.The analyst will identify key data sources needed for analysis and work with the responsible functions (marketing, finance, claims, operations, actuarial, underwriting and distribution) and the data aggregation team to extract needed information in a standardized and efficient manner. As needed, the analyst will use various programs to prepare models and understand product performance measured against expected targets.The analyst will perform detailed analysis to better understand key business drivers and areas for improvement, developing specific recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence and will identify favorable and unfavorable factors and trends that may affect Accident & Health products. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing organizational efficiencies; support any global reporting and analysis as required including targeted reviews of business segment analytics, portfolio investigative analysis, database content analysis, automation of reporting, dashboards and other ad hoc report creation.

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, actuarial science, economics, science or similar field.

  • Expert proficiency with the Microsoft Office, especially Excel and VBA.

  • Strong analytical, financial capabilities, research, problem-solving, critical thinking skills, attention to details and ability to develop creative solutions.

  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects within tight timeframe, simultaneous tasks and work streams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction, challenge status quo, and promote new solutions.

  • Modeling and predictive analytics experience a plus.

  • Optimization and experience creating efficiency through the use of technology a plus.

  • Experience with Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI or other data visualization programs a plus.
