Line of Business

The Accident and Health (A&H) division proudly provides a diversified array of products to their corporate clients and tailors specialty products for niche markets including Basic and Voluntary AD&D, Critical Illness, Occupational Accident, Out of Province/Out of Country Medical, and Business Travel Insurance.

About the role

Reporting to the Field Service Unit Operations Manager, the Team Lead role is at the core of our continued success and AIG’s leading position in the Insurance marketplace. AIG continues to lead the way in developing insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and embodies a tradition of innovation, bringing to market groundbreaking insurance solutions for our changing world.

What you need to know:

  • Manage a team of Underwriting Assistants

  • Contribute to and/or lead transformational projects and strategic initiatives

  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships with Underwriters, Sales Reps, and external customers

  • Contribute to monthly reporting and strategy development

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by streamlining daily processes, SOP creation and modernization

  • Answer requests/inquiries from clients, both internal and external

  • Assist with Quality Assurance distribution and department reviews

  • Provide training and knowledge syncs to peers

  • Provide input for system robotics, processing updates, and testing

  • Provide key inputs critical to the development of marketing materials

  • Undertake ongoing compliance and regulatory training as required

  • Participate in various ad-hoc projects as needed

    What we are looking for:

  • Prior leadership/management experience preferred

  • 1+ years of experience or knowledge of A&H products is a plus

  • Strong aptitude of systems and PC applications (Windows, Outlook, MSWord, Excel and database administration, web-based applications)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

  • Proven quality in the area of attention to detail

  • Good problem- solving ability

  • Flexibility and initiative

  • Ability to handle/prioritize large workload

  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team-oriented approach to accomplish results

  • College/University degree an asset
