Nightwing Systems Administrator in Sterling, Virginia

This position is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and successful TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance crossover.

We are seeking an experienced Windows/Linux System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The candidate will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure for classified programs in both physical and cloud (AWS and/or Azure) environments. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows environment. 

Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

Working in both cloud (Azure) and on prem environments.

Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. 

Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.  

Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, NetBackup, prior systems administration and networking administration experience beyond account maintenance, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.

Experience with server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Windows desktops (Windows XP, 7, 10), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

Previous experience working in a cloud (AWS) environment.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification

In-depth working experience in Linux Server Administration

Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.

AWS Certifications

TS/SCI with Polygraph Required Day 1
