ASRC Federal Holding Company Traveling Mechanics Assistant in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Military technical innovation is critical to defending our territories and those of our allies. The US Army is currently exploring the insertion of leading-edge technology into their legacy fleet of vehicles to improve the situational awareness, agility, autonomy, and lethality of US Military ground-based combat operations. By converting material, fuel and equipment transport trucks into robots or upgrading legacy equipment, Army leadership expects to reduce the need for soldiers to be put in harm's way. Our work as a Defense Contractor is dedicated to advancing technology in ground vehicle systems and promoting the future survivability for our troops.

Job Requirements:

  • Have strong mechanical ability and understand proper use of hand and power tools.

  • Be able perform light fabrication.

  • Be able to take instruction and learn the job so it can be performed efficiently and with high quality.

  • Work well in a team environment.

  • Properly document all activities as required by task and for reporting purposes.

  • Adhere to all established safety policies and standards maintaining a safe work environment for all.

  • Ability to travel up to 100%.

  • Ability to lift/move 70 pounds.

  • Some computer experience necessary, the ability to complete expense reports and time sheets online is critical.

Requirements:

  • Highly organized, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and respond quickly to short deadline actions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and follow up skills are critical.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Education:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
