ManpowerGroup Machine operator in Sterling Heights, Michigan
Our client, A Steel Manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Steel cutter to join their team. As a Steel Cutter, you will be part of the production team supporting in the facility. The ideal candidate will have Machine operation experience, strong work ethic and organized skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Steel Cutter
Location: Sterling Heights
Pay Range: $20/hr-$22/hr based on experience
What’s the Job?
Build set-ups by placing spacers and knives onto the tension arm at specified widths for the steel coils to be cut to the customer’s specifications.
Monitor the process of steel being cut, knowing the gauge of each coil and adjusting accordingly
Enter data for the exact specifications onto the appropriate form for data entry into the computer
Direct Slitter Helper how to stage coils to be processed for maximum efficiency
Safely drive the Hi-lo through the plant to move coils and skids to designated areas and operate the over-head crane to move coils from the slitter to packaging
What’s Needed?
Drive a forklift and operate an overhead crane to pull and move coils and skids within the warehouse, safely
Band and package material for shipping according to customer requirements
Measure dimensions and gauge material with micrometer.
Generate inventory tags to be placed on material being received & enter inventory tag data into computer system
Stage material for shipping according to bill of ladings & Maintain shipping supplies
