Job Title: Quality Supervisor - Intermediate

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Payrate: $32.00/hr

Note: This is a 100% onsite position. Must be able to work any shift.

Description:

The Quality Supervisor plays an integral role in reshaping the automotive landscape. Responsible for supervising a group of UAW-represented employees, this role ensures process controls meet corporate standards and prevents defects. The supervisor will create, implement, and sustain vehicle control plans, solve quality issues proactively, and uphold outstanding teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily quality control and inspection activities in assigned areas.

Supervise hourly and SBU employees.

Conduct daily audits across shifts, holding team members accountable and issuing discipline as needed.

Make independent decisions to commence or cease production operations based on quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure compliance with government regulations and MQGR/Level 1 standards.

Identify and document process improvements.

Communicate results to quality and plant management.

Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects.

Lead and support meetings at all company levels.

Provide expert technical leadership and direct cross-functional teams in quality initiatives.

Develop and enhance PPR & audit checklists.

Perform process audits and review critical processes and stations.

Report monthly process conformity scorecards.

Assist in root cause, containment, and corrective actions for quality issues.

Collaborate with experts to resolve issues and drive issue resolution.

Liaise between Engineering, Quality, Production, and Product Design departments.

Standardize best practices to ensure quality products.

Supervise vehicle inspections and analyze audit data.

Train and coach employees on quality requirements.

Recommend and implement cost-effective error-proofing strategies.

Support manufacturing facilities with launch readiness and compliance to requirements.

Conduct training for plant personnel on quality requirements.

Analyze quality data to ensure calibration.

Requirements:

Must be able to work any shift.

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Supervisor.

Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills.

Flexible shift schedule.

Experience with computer systems and strong knowledge of MS Office or Google Office.

Ability to analyze, synthesize, and translate data into visual charts/graphs.

Flexibility to work on a rotating crew/shift schedule and overtime as needed.

Willingness to carry out tasks outside of normal roles and responsibilities.

Preferred Requirements:

Manufacturing/Assembly Plant experience.

Lead Auditor certifications and practical experience.

Supervisory experience of hourly personnel.

Basic knowledge of statistics.

Previous leadership experience is a plus.

Engineering degree or equivalent.
