Position Purpose

The Member Service Specialist is responsible for assisting members and performing a broad variety of member services.

Essential Duties

  • Handle incoming phone calls quickly and professionally. Direct member calls to the proper area and handle phone transfer requests. Direct lobby traffic to the department the member needs.

  • Educate and provide membership with general information pertaining to products and services.

  • Sort and deliver mail to the proper departments.

  • Review and process changes of name, address, or other account information.

  • Assist members with information and assist them in signing up for electronic services

  • Process verification of deposits.

  • Keep rate boards update, lobby organized, and teller queue-line fully stocked with pens, brochures, and rate sheets.

  • Must be willing to maintain a work schedule determined by the demographic needs of the branch location and be willing to adapt to the changing needs of the branch schedule as necessary.

  • Follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations.

  • Build relationships and actively cross sell beneficial products and services.

  • Respond to member requests and provide effective solutions to resolve situations.

  • Complete required daily, monthly and quarterly reports and assignments.

  • Perform Teller transactions and serve as a back-up when needed for branch coverage.

  • Perform other special assignments as needed.

    Education/Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Customer/ Member Service experience preferred

    Skills/Abilities

  • Strong customer service and sales skills

  • The ability to multi-task

  • Good communication skills, professional appearance, dress and attitude
