Position Description:
The Network Area Manager role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by managing the network resources in the planning, designing,developing and maintaining local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), load balancers, gatways and firewalls across the organization. In addition, the IT Network Area Manager will oversee the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, refresh, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. \ Responsibilities\ Strategy & Planning\ Collaborate with IT management to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs and technology enhancements\ Maintain and adhere to a 1, 3 and 5 year roadmap that aligns with the Business and IT Strategy\ Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.\ Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network engineers, usage, and disaster recovery.\ Establish service level agreements with the business\ Acquisition & Deployment\ Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, firewalls, hubs, switches, UPSs, ADCs, and other hardware\ Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry\ Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades\ Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, various departments and contractors to secure network products and services\ Operational Management\ Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, security, development, and evaluation of all network technologies\ Manage and set priorities for the network engineers, to include coaching and performance reviews\ Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.\ Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed\ Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware, software, and connections across multiple locations\ Manage applications in support of the network services (PRTG,
