Job Description

The Instructional Technologist, under general supervision of the Manager of Instructional and AV Technology Support, will provide support to faculty and others in the effective utilization of instructional and classroom technologies for the College of Health and Sciences. The position is embedded within the academic unit to serve as a consultant for the college providing direct support for all instructional technologies and serving as a liaison with IT. Peer support comes from a growing team of other embedded instructional technologists, AV technicians, and staff that comprise the full Instructional Technology Support team.

The ideal candidate would have experience in the educational environment, an understanding of pedagogical and technological practices and an inclination to cultivate customer centric excellence with faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis.

The Information Technology Services office is located at the Stephenville Campus. Work hours are Monday to Friday; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 25% Establishes professional relationships with the college by facilitating training and hands-on support to users on classroom and instructional technology and equipment, monitors support tickets, and acts as a key university IT liaison with the academic units of the college.

  • 20% Provides Tier 2 audio-visual technology support and collaborates with IT Service Delivery for supporting customers’ computer and equipment needs.

  • 15% Collaborates in the development and facilitation of seminars, workshops and trainings on various education and technology related topics.

  • 15% Identifies technology opportunities, trends, and strategies for collaboration to advance the strategic mission of the university. Applies instructional technology standards, methodologies, and principals to specific collegiate needs, objectives, and outcomes.

  • 10% Schedules workshops and other events to promote instructional resources and innovation.

  • 5% Consults with Instructional Consultants in the Center for Educational Excellence, and advises in the integration of technology into curricula.

  • 5% Partners with Student Accessibility Services to assist in providing instructional technologies meeting accessibility requirements.

  • 5% Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of related experience in classroom and online course technology.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of instructional technology support in higher education.

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Knowledge of a variety of learning management systems.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education environment.

  • Teaching and/or training experience.

    Salary:

    Commensurate with experience

    The target base annual salary is $54,250 ma y be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to t h e mini m um requirements of this position.
