The Office of Curriculum and Faculty (http://www.tarleton.edu/cafa/) in the Division of Academic Affairs (http://www.tarleton.edu/academicaffairs/) at Tarleton State University is seeking a highly organized and experienced individual to fill the role of Faculty Affairs Coordinator.

The Faculty Affairs Coordinator oversees essential functions within the Office of Curriculum and Faculty, encompassing faculty data management, evaluation processes, and post-employment activities. These activities may include facilitating midpoint reviews, promotion & tenure procedures, post-tenure evaluations, faculty records, compiling annual reports, and managing a comprehensive database housing faculty credentials and appointments. Additionally, the Faculty Affairs Coordinator plays a pivotal role in developing, refining, and implementing processes and tools for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of faculty data, contributing significantly to the understanding of faculty success metrics. This position also entails providing training sessions and offering general administrative support as necessary.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serves as liaison with colleges and departments, institutional research, and other units to ensure faculty data is accurate in reporting systems.

  • Provide data to the Associate Vice President for Curriculum and Faculty Affairs as necessary for managing faculty affairs and analyzing the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.

  • Coordinates with the Office of Curriculum for various items concerning curriculum.

  • Provides oversight and direction to the faculty credentialing process, including obtaining official transcripts, ensuring forms are completed, and entering data in the reporting system.

  • Assists in the coordination of faculty evaluation processes

  • Assists faculty with technical aspects of preparing mid-point, promotion & tenure, and post-tenure review portfolios, provides faculty development in the use of the faculty activity reporting systems, and coordinates/provides training for college support staff in the execution of these evaluation processes.

  • Works directly with external vendors to resolve issues related to the faculty activity reporting systems.

  • Manages the submission, routing, and approval processes involved with the faculty activity reporting system, including the dossier templates used within that system, as well as providing staff support and troubleshooting any problems or issues in the system.

  • Facilitates logistics for Curriculum and Faculty Affairs committees and meetings: Academic Council, Faculty Appeals committees, Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Tenure & Promotion Criteria Review Committee, and University Committee List

  • Assist the Office of the Provost with yearly letters of reappointment

  • Process, manage, and facilitate yearly Statements of Expectation documents between the colleges for eligible faculty members.

  • Prepare and coordinate all Faculty Affairs submissions to the Board of Regents promptly.

  • Manages communication, submission, and presentations for Faculty awards and Faculty award programs

  • Ensures that the University operates in accordance with the policies of the Texas A&M University System, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and various accrediting agencies ensuring compliance and monitoring for and responding to federal, state, and local legislative updates.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Three years of experience in office administration, project management or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing programs.

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and project deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to utilize technology applications

  • Intermediate analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to deduce cause and effect relationships.

    Salary

    Commensurate with experience

    The target base annual salary is $43,620 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
