Position Summary: To support AccuWeather's continued focus on innovation and generating superior weather products, we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Data Operations Engineer Level 1 with a specialization in scripting and deployment automation. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about leveraging scripting languages and automation tools to optimize data processes. As a Data Operations Engineer Level 1, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our data operations through scripting and automation. Key Responsibilities: Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts using languages such as Python, Bash, or similar, to automate data processing tasks and deployment workflows. Data Processing Optimization: Collaborate with the team to identify areas for automation, streamline data processing, and improve overall operational efficiency. Deployment Automation: Implement and manage deployment automation processes for data pipelines using CI/CD best practices, ensuring seamless and consistent end-to-end deployments. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor automated processes, promptly identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of scripts, automation workflows, and deployment procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing support for scripting needs and contributing to the development of an effective automation strategy. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or 2 years of relevant work experience. Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. Understanding of data processing concepts and data integration tools. Familiarity with deployment automation tools and processes. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate within a team environment. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Initiative: Proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and explore new technologies.
