Ford Motor Company IT Engineer, Ford at BlueOval City, Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center in Stanton, Tennessee

Ford is investing $5.6 billion to build its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at BlueOval City in West Tennessee. The Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center will produce the next-generation electric truck with production beginning in 2025. We're building our first mega-campus in more than a generation -- and it's electric. What you'll do...

The successful candidate will be working with a local team to provide support that includes technical troubleshooting, data analysis & problem resolution for the applications & infrastructure on the plant floor and lead various efforts to ensure all responsible manufacturing applications meet Ford’s productivity goals. You will also interface daily with all business departments in the plant, from assembly and industrial controls to quality and manufacturing / logistics.

While the plant is being built, you will be transitioning between Dearborn MI and Stanton TN as required by the program timing and Op Comm engagements. Expectations are that you will eventually be resident in the greater Stanton/Memphis area by year end 2024. Pre-production builds will begin in mid 2025 with full production late 2026. During this time, you will be able to:

• Support, launch, deploy all new systems required for the plant, End user Support, Applications from quality to production.

• Support a multi-shift operation in launch mode of a greenfield manufacturing plant.

• Work flexible hours and rotating schedule to support business processes (days, nights and or weekends/holidays)

• Provide technical support (Manufacturing IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, end-user-productivity tools) to plant business customers throughout the manufacturing plant

• Interface with corporate IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts

• Support Plant Floor Systems / PDO teams in resolving incidents; Provide triage and business continuity plans, support escalations, provide hands and feet to support teams and other global teams (i.e. DBA, Server Operations, Ops Control, Network Operations)

• Focus on the integration / long term maintenance of applications and hardware

• Assist site IT manager with managing assignments and workload

• Develop, maintain, and share, accurate support documentation

• Support local network equipment in a Cisco based environment

• Support local servers across both physical and virtual environments in a Windows and Linux based ecosystem

• Support FOT deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIIOT, iOS, software-defined network, mobile, and Android based equipment.

You'll have...

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Technology related

• Six months related-work experience.

• Ability to support a multi-shift, 24x7 operation

• Resourceful and creative, self-driven.

Even better, you may have…

• 1 year of Manufacturing Business Processes (Powertrain, Vehicle Operations) experience

• 1 year experience of IT Infrastructure and manufacturing applications

• Ability to manage through difficult situations

• Ability to proactively manage critical application availability in a production environment
