  • Job Summary

  • Under the general direction of the Volunteer Services Manager, the Guest Services Greeter greets and assists all individuals entering EMH facilities and screens to ensure they meet the defined criteria for entry during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes checking temperatures, asking specific questions, documenting and maintaining screening information and anticipating customer needs. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

  • Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort

  • Must be able to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions. Moderate to high stress level. Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. The task of this job does involve a medium risk of exposure to blood, body fluids/tissue, disease, infection, assault and physical strain. Moderate amount of standing, sitting, walking, bending and stooping. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently and have the physical ability to push patients in wheelchairs. Will work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime may occur on a rare occasion. May be required to travel to various EMH entities with little notice to cover the door screening process.

  • Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Six (6) months experience in health care, customer service or working in public settings required. Computer experience including ability to enter data into spreadsheets required.

  • EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a wide variety of circumstances. Excellent customer services skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. General computer, phone and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to assist patient and visitors with equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc. while maintaining patient safety.
