Nursing Educator - Professional Development

Department: HSS Orthopedics at Stamford Health

Reporting to: Senior Director

Full-Time

The HSS Nursing Educator RN provides educational, mentorship, and development strategy to nursing personnel within the HSS/Stamford Collaborative consistent with the philosophy and goals of the Division of Nursing and the HSS mission statement. As a role model and critical contributor, the HSS Nursing Educator RN will help to sustain a clinically and professionally competent workforce while ensuring comprehensive and appropriate standards of care in accordance with the philosophy of HSS, the Division of Nursing, the ANA Code of Ethics and regulatory bodies. The HSS Nursing Educator RN serves as a clinical resource for all levels of nursing staff across the perioperative phases of care including OR, PACU, Holding, In-Patient and Tully Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Job Qualifications

  • NYS and CT RN License and registration

  • MSN from an accredited school of nursing required

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience

  • CNOR required

  • Extensive knowledge of Orthopedic care across the continuum. Ability to collaborate across organizations to direct quality nursing care and best practices. Ability to use technology to enhance staff experiences and maintain accurate records. Must have experience developing training modules.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service orientation
