JOB DUTIES:

Four-year high school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. High school education or training is required. Associates degree in a related field is preferred. Must have a current State of Florida drivers license and a valid State of Florida security Class D license. Must have current CPR and Basic First Aid certifications. Must be self-motivated, work with minimal supervision, use initiative and accept responsibility. Three years law enforcement, military, security or investigative experience is required. Must have knowledge of security methods and procedures. Must be public relations oriented and enjoy working with and assisting others. Must present a neat and professional appearance. Ability to physically inspect all areas of the hospital campus, which may involve climbing, bending and reaching. May be required at times to lift light to medium objects. Must be able to move quickly to provide response to emergency situations. May be required to physically subdue combative individuals. Must be able to complete yearly training requirements for CPI certification, BLS, and restraint training. Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal. Must have excellent hearing, ability to receive and document detailed information through oral communications, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as breaking glass or someone calling for help.
