Conducts comprehensive data validation, obtains required signatures, coordinates patient financial and insurance benefit information, works in union with multiple department to ensure reimbursement for services rendered.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. High School education or equivalent education required. Experience in billing, follow up and collections preferred. Ambulatory care, medical office, or hospital experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred.

  2. Excellent communication skills; comprehensive knowledge of third party payer requirements; computer literacy; excellent customer service skills; knowledge of consent requirements.

  3. Demonstrates ability to use medical terminology; comprehensive knowledge of manage care contracts.

  4. Knowledge of state, federal and county programs; collection skills; negotiation skills.

  5. Attention to detail and accurately problem solving abilities.

  6. Extreme flexibility; ability to embrace multi-task skills; ability to interact with physicians, nurses, and large patient volumes in a hectic paced environment.

  7. Repetitive motion and strong visual skills required at a computer terminal.

  8. Requires sedentary tasks performed at work station. Must be able to move freely about department and facility.

This position works in the Emergency Center with a varied schedule.
