Position: Student Child Care Worker Location: St. Paul, MN Job Id: 320680 - Spring 25 # of Openings: 5 Student Child Care Worker Position Overview: Assist as needed under the direction of the professional staff. Help to maintain classroom daily schedule in the areas of supervision, custodial care (diapering, feeding, napping), active play, learning experiences, large muscle play, etc. Allows professional staff to communicate any information about each child's day with parents during drop-off and pick-up times of the day. Essential Duties:Complete required Background study and fingerprinting before starting position. Complete required payroll documentation with the Human Resources Department at Concordia University before starting position. Two forms of identification needed (drivers license, passport, social security card, original birth certificate). Provide proof of Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification. If not certified in Pediatric First Aid/CPR, employee is responsible for getting trained within 30 days. The center director or assistant director can assist in setting up the training. The center covers the cost of this training. Understand and follow childcare regulations as presented in Department of Human Services, Statute 9503 (Rule3). These regulations are found in Student Staff Handbook, Risk Reduction Plan, Child Care Emergency Plan and other documents that will be covered in initial orientation training. Employee is responsible for reading all documents provided. Understand the reporting process for suspected cases of child abuse to Child Protection. Complete SUIDS and AHT training at initial orientation. Participate in mandatory orientation training before starting position. Understand and support the philosophy of the child care center. Ask Professional Staff questions if clarification is needed. Inform the Director and Assistant Director in advance of illness or absence as soon as possible (at least 2 hours prior to scheduled shift). If other time off is needed, you are responsible for finding coverage then letting the Director and Assistant Director know about the schedule change. Complete timecards on time. Submit in writing to the Director any changes in class scheduling (1st & 2nd Semester Schedules, Finals Schedule) Assist as needed under the direction of the professional staff. Additional Demands: Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
