Description HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities): The Sr. Director of Transportation will establish and execute the operational strategies for LBU, with current operations in Minnesota, Wisconsin & Iowa. This position will ensure capacity, capabilities, and costs are aligned to support growth strategies and will optimize our logistics and distribution across multiple facilities. Responsibilities include maximizing the use of capital assets, reinforcing safety and quality behaviors, and managing the overall operational cost structure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Influences and drives culture of safe work practices, continuous improvement, environmental compliance, and the Lube-Tech Mission of making tomorrow a little bit better than today for our employees, customers, & communities. Key member of the division Leadership team providing business and operational leadership. Provides strategic oversight to Delivery & Transportation operations. Ensures these capabilities are competitive, differentiated, and keep pace with emerging opportunities. Develops and directs operational policies and procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in all transportation activities. Leads change management including transition plans and culture change. Establishes Strategy Deployment Process aligning activities with corporate pillar metrics. Implements lean processes to ensure timely closure of continuous improvement items and safety suggestions with urgency Builds an operational roadmap that addresses capacity, capabilities, cost, and service levels. Implements metric driven management control and reporting to ensure operational targets are met and continuous improvement occurs. Develops and directs operational expectations, sets roles and responsibilities, and provides toolsets for problem solving and continuous improvement. Identifies and prioritizes capital and operating expenditures. Deploys plans to maximize the effectiveness and profitability of capital investments. Develops and deploys fiscal year plans including measurable objectives and budgets. Drives technology integration within the delivery & transportation network. Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with internal teammates and departments to achieve overall division goals Provides leadership, strategic direction, and business acumen to Logistics, Operations & Driver Managers. Monitors transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems and achieve efficiencies. Monitor division performance as it relates to key goals, measurements, and financial performance, assuring management accountability for plan execution and implementing corrective actions as required. Ensures operational compliance with all areas of safety, environmental, and regulatory influence. Provides oversight on DOT compliance and fleet management. Partners with Safety, Security and Environmental team to drive safety fleet camera program. Functions within the guidelines of the Lube-Tech culture and principles; demonstrates effective leadership competencies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field required Master's degree preferred Experience and/or Training: 10 years of progressive experience leading manufacturing/quality/engineering organization; Lubricant industry experience preferred Strong leader with extensive knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain management and logistic processes. Demonstrated success in developing departmental budgets including expense/cost management and capital planning. Demonstrated success participating in Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. Requires the ability to develop and execute strategy and to develop/monitor budgets and expenses. Solid understanding of business disciplines and financial information, particularly as it pertains to cash flow, margins and profitability bility to identify and achieve "win/win" agreements. Utilizes a variety of techniques and approaches to influence others Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making considering relative costs & benefits of potential actions; critical thinking logic & reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Extensive knowledge of Lean concepts and tools. Ability to be a thought leader and inspire employee engagement. Licenses/Certificates: CPM, CPIM and/or APICS certification preferred Six Sigma certification preferred Green Belt certification preferred Travel Expectations: This position requires 50-70% regional travel; more travel may be required upon business demand.
