The Opportunity

This position works out of our St Paul, MN location, supporting our Structural Heart team. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

As Principal Financial Analyst, you will use your strong presence and business acumen to support our Structural Heart business. You will be conducting complex financial planning, analysis and reporting activities for the Structural Heart business, making recommendations to entity leadership to reach revenue targets, and achieving annual operating plan commitments and strategic plan commitments. In this role, you will provide guidance to less experienced financial analysts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs financial planning and analysis activities for assigned entities which may include any combination of the following areas: revenue recognition, shareholder value, market modeling, business development, profit and loss, budgeting, gross margin, workforce planning, investments, cash flow management, , finance system planning, etc.

  • Provides sophisticated reporting to management due to extensive knowledge of finance systems and high familiarity of the entity operations.

  • Create action plans, solicit buy in and implement plans based on analysis and reporting results.

  • Serves as subject matter expert for assigned entity and leads special projects as assigned by finance department.

  • Provides month end analysis and commentary related to the financial close cycle. Analyzes actual operating results compared to plan and forecast and quantifies variance and their impact.

  • Executes annual goals as assigned based on entity/ies operating plans and department needs.

  • Prepares consolidated reporting and analysis for annual and quarterly planning cycles.

  • Develops and implements common financial procedures and processes within the team.

  • Collaborates with other leaders to ensure proper accounting and forecasting of entity financial results.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.

  • A minimum of 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of financial planning and analysis, general or cost accounting, or budgeting and planning in a complex multi-site corporate or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong proficiency utilizing Excel

  • Previous experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of medical device experience preferred

  • Strong experience and proficiency with finance/accounting related software packages

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

  • Advanced level degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field

  • CPA, CMA, or CPIM designation or equivalent

  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Planning / Essbase

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
