0.8 FTE (64 hrs/pay period); Night Shifts and every other weekend for newly remodeled Inpatient Adult Unit. Certification as Nursing Assistant preferred. Benefit Eligible position!
Purpose of Position
This position provides both clerical support and patient care responsibilities. Clerical support is provided to the nursing departments through coordination of communication, transcription of provider orders, and maintenance of unit supplies. Patient care is provided by assisting the professional nurse in meeting basic activity of daily living (ADL) needs of the patient while maintaining an orderly and safe physical environment.
Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $20.00/hour to $28.68/hour, with a median wage of $23.90/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Core Responsibilities and Duties

Accurate and Efficient Work - Demonstrates accuracy, efficiency, and completeness in products and processes. Performs tasks with appropriate urgency and accuracy while reducing waste through proactive measures.
Coordinates time and responsibilities as requested to ensure time is used most efficiently while maintaining top priorities.
Recognizes patient data outside of normal limits and reports to RN in a timely manner.
Assists with providing developmentally appropriate care in conjunction with current plans of care.
Completes patient care related duties as delegated by the professional nurse.
Assists patients to safely complete ADLs as delegated by the nurse.
Demonstrates safe and appropriate transfer techniques.
Delivers family centered care.
Responds to family requests for information and assistance.
Ensures that patient care areas are maintained in an orderly manner, orders supplies, ensures that adequate supplies of all forms are available, maintains charts and
competently assists nursing staff as requested.
Coordination of patient schedules/tests with multiple departments.
Coordination of inter- and intradepartmental communication.
Prioritizing tasks to meet patient and unit/department needs.
Responding to a decentralized nursing care delivery system.
Accurate transcription of provider orders.
Competence in Technology Required of the Position.
Prioritizes tasks based on identification of urgency.
Demonstrates proficiency in job-related software.
HUC: Gathering and entering patient information in the appropriate electronic formats.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma/GED
Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association) is required. If candidate holds valid CPR for Healthcare providers through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete CPR BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
Physically able to work hours required and safely transport/transfer patients.
Preferred
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course or currently a student in an accredited Nursing program
