The Multimedia Content Specialist conceptualizes, develops and edits compelling and on-brand digital content for various applications, with a primary focus on producing and creating professional level video and photo assets, and creating/editing web-ready content to support tourism, livability, and business attraction initiatives on behalf of Explore Minnesota. This position will be responsible for all aspects of video production including pre-production planning, filming, sourcing, coordinating releases and licensure, as well as post-production duties of editing, audio mixing, and color correction. The multimedia content specialist develops content for digital advertising, social media, exploreminnesota.com, live presentations and other applications. This role also is the lead in photography collection, editing, and publishing. Key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce and capture high-quality multimedia content for Explore Minnesota.

  • Develop, edit and post-produce content for Explore Minnesota campaign needs, website, social media and other channels as requested.

  • Guide video content strategy for Explore Minnesota.

  • Lead the management, archiving and maintenance of EMN video and photo library

  • Document Explore Minnesota in the community and provide creative assistance for other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must provide portfolio and/or links for Explore Minnesota recruiting staff to review in order to be considered. Within your resume or a separate attachment, candidates are required to submit a link or links to their professional work examples available online. To be considered, you must submit at least 4 video samples that demonstrate your experience with filming, editing, and storytelling and at least 4 photos that demonstrate your experience with both portraits and city/landscape imagery. Work must demonstrate a high degree of quality and professionalism to meet minimum requirements.

  • Two (2) years of experience in the photo and video journalism space or extensive experience in multimedia storytelling.

  • Experience with video filming and editing software expertise, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Final Cut, Davinci Resolve, or other similar industry-standard software.

  • Experience in writing for varied audiences to effectively communicate and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers/stakeholders

  • Experience with in-field recording and studio recording with industry-standard equipment (audio consoles, microphones, amps, patch bays / routers, and other related equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and/or groups talent to put them at ease and elicit captivating interviews and images.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate events related to photography and videography needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated coursework in video journalism or multimedia storytelling

  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements is required to ensure content follows best practices for accessibility and complies with applicable accessibility laws.

  • Experience adhering to the State of Minnesota's accessibility policies and standards is desired.

  • Ability to collaborate on small and large teams both internally and externally.

  • Ability to stay up to date with the latest video production trends and video marketing best practices and be able to share those insights regularly with the team.
