Overview

Fairview Health Services are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Highland Park Urgent Care Clinic! This position is approved for 64 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible position. The position requires you to work every weekend. This position also qualifies for up to a $2000 sign on bonus. The Fairview Urgent Care teams work together to ensure we are providing the best care for our patients. With 12 different urgent care locations, you may be asked to travel to another site that is outside your “home grouping” when needed. We offer urgent care at: Andover, Bloomington–Oxboro, Brooklyn Park, Eagan, Edina, Highland Park, Lakeville, Mall of America, Maplewood, North Branch, River Falls, or Woodwinds (Woodbury. If you travel out of your home sites, we do offer a monetary incentive to thank you for being flexible.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a member of the patient care team, a Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant will collect information and detail the patient's visit. MA's are responsible for adhering to policies, procedures and practice guidelines; promoting communication with all members of the team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

Medical Assistants deliver care as delegated by the patients Physicians, or RN. They are able to prioritize work based on need, available resources, patient preferences, provider schedule, and work in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner as well as other health care team members. You may also perform high, and low risk, technical procedures during your daily work which could include: medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures which may include lab draws

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN is required.

  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Preferred

  • Ambulatory Care Experience is preferred.

  • AAMA Certification is preferred.
