HealthPartners LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT in St. Paul, Minnesota

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant or LPN to support patient care by carrying out a variety of nursing tasks and medical orders as delegated by physicians and RN's. This role serves as an integral component of our care team and provides a quality level of service which is focused on patient care and patient relationships. The required qualifications for the LPN position include: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current LPN licensure in Minnesota. Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling. One year working experience as an LPN is preferred. The required qualifications for the Medical Assistant position include: High school diploma or GED. Graduated of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT License Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling. Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT is preferred The LPN position responsibilities include: Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient. Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting. Assist patients to achieve basic health care goals. Identify patient education needs, provide instruction and refer appropriately. Document observations, actions and patient outcomes. Provide safe, accurate and clinically competent direct care to patients and families. Recognize patient's abnormalities or urgent problems and seek appropriate assistance. Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs, recognize and report variances. Teach techniques or provide information according to established program. Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatment in each patient's record. Appropriately communicate information to other members of the health care team. Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information regarding the procedure and care. Perform telephone screening under direction of RN or MD. Assure patients' rights to privacy, safety and confidentiality. Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas. Maintain CPR certification. Serve as a catalyst in improving standards of LPN practice. Serve as a role model for technical conduct and practice. Provide support to professional and technical staff. Solve problems appropriately seeking assistance from members of the healthcare team. Effect positive response from patients and other members of the healthcare team through interpersonal skills. The Medical Assistant position responsibilities include: Room patients and complete vital signs and other pertinent physical measurements. Administer medication and clinical procedures according to authorized policy and documented according to HealthPartners policy. This may include DISCUS or AIMS assessment. Review charts for the presence of pertinent information relevant to the patients appointment. This may include Prepared Practice work as developed by the team. Provide and document any needed and requested health educational materials to the patient. Handle patient and their records in a private and confidential manner p
