This position exists for applying skilled technical expertise in the actuarial review and analysis, approval and disapproval, of a wide variety of submissions to the Insurance Division, including, but not limited to the most complex financial components of life insurance and property & casualty rate and valuation filings. This position will assist in directing policy regarding life and property & casualty actuarial issues and engage with interested parties including consumer advocates and industry members
Minimum Qualifications
Passed at least four examinations of the Society of Actuaries and/or Casualty Actuarial Society
AND
Two (2) years of general, professional actuarial experience.
Made substantial progress towards attaining the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) credential through the actuarial examination process
Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirement will be further evaluated based on the following:
Demonstrated plans to pursue the ASA or ACAS credential.
Substantial experience with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software
Educational background or experience related to predictive analytics and/or risk modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
Attained the ASA or ACAS credential
Two (2) years of experience pricing life or property & casualty insurance or analyzing reserves or regulatory work in those areas.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
