Job Summary As the Learning and Development Coordinator, you will have a key role on the newly created Employee Experience Team within the Office of Human Resources. This team leads efforts to create a positive work environment through learning and development, culture and engagement, and health and safety. You will be responsible for coordinating the creation, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs that promote the development and retention of employees and improve the effectiveness of the agency. Some examples of programs and responsibilities include new employee orientation, technical and interpersonal skills development, career development, management of online learning platforms, facilitating annual compliance training, and developing relationships with external vendors who deliver specialized training. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment and may telework from anywhere in Minnesota or a neighboring state. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Three (3) years* of experience in learning and development for adult learners. *Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Design or other closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute for one (1) year of experience; master's degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following: Experience: Using principles, practices, and techniques of adult learning, needs assessment, curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation and measurement. Facilitating instructor led, live and online learning. Using a learning management system (LMS) or other similar tracking and reporting software. Using website platforms to share and communicate about learning and development opportunities (e.g. SharePoint, intranet platforms, etc.). Using Microsoft Office Suite products or similar (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration tools for online learning such as: Teams, Forms, and Polls, or similar. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Design or other closely related field as determined by the agency. Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties. Experience developing user-friendly and accessible materials. Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data. Ability to host and coordinate events with minimum supervision.
