Regions Hospital Laboratory Clinical Technician Specialist in St. Paul, Minnesota

Regions Hospital is currently seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused Clinical Laboratory Technical Specialist to join our laboratory team. The Flow Cytometry Technical Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the use of the flow cytometry instrumentation and maintaining a high functioning department. This role involves operating and maintaining flow cytometers, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high-quality data acquisition and analysis. Additional responsibilities include training staff on flow cytometry techniques, staying current with technological advancements, collaborating with Pathologists, and contributing to the development of new applications and methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flow cytometry, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Work schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Day Shift Required Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, biology or related field; and successful completion of a clinical Rotation in an approved program that qualifies for ASCP certification or equivalent. Advanced training or a master's degree in related field may substitute for the above educational and registration requirements. Experience: At least four (4) years of experience as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or related specialty with at least two (2) years of experience in the specialty area occurring within the last four years. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Experience as a lead in designated specialty and/or experience with regulatory oversight, method development, validation, and implementation, teaching and training, laboratory procedure writing and revising, and other projects. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists or equivalent professional organization. Must meet Continuing Education requirements to maintain certification if applicable.
