This position is responsible for routine maintenance such as: sweeping, dust mopping, vacuuming, emptying wastebaskets and recycling barrels; cleaning restrooms, stripping/refinishing hard surface floors, shampooing carpets, operating floor machines, carpet extractors and auto scrubbers; window washing, etc. Must be a good team-worker, and able to work without direct supervision. Special Work Conditions: All tasks generate dust. There is frequent lifting of 5-40 pounds, repetitive back and forth movements, bending and stooping, and extensive walking and stair climbing. Tasks require heavy use of arms and wrists, and exertion of upper body, arms, and hands to use equipment such as buffers and extractors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of: - Different types of flooring/floor covering, sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents, and equipment; - Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely; - Methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely.

Ability to: -

• Use hand tools and operate electric cleaning/maintenance equipment

• Follow simple oral and written instructions

• Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.

• Keep simple records

• Establish and maintain good customer service relationships with clientele and co-workers.

A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL (CRT TEST REQUIREMENT MINIMUM IS LIGHT-MEDIUM, EX: ABLE TO LIFT 13-21 LBS FREQUENTLY 100-300 REPS AN HOUR).
