To help us achieve this goal, we’re looking for an Office and Administrative Specialist Principal to provide confidential, executive, and administrative assistance in support of and management of the day-to-day activities for the Department of Corrections’ Chief Financial Officer and other Office of Financial Management (OFM) executive team members. This position provides advice and technical assistance and performs administrative activities to assist in the development and implementation of OFM and statewide policies, standards, and operations for the office’s nine major functional areas

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held .

  • Knowledge of and experience using finance terminology to develop and maintain accurate records.

  • Word processing skills sufficient to prepare documents and reports.

  • Spreadsheet skills sufficient to develop, design and manipulate spreadsheets.

  • Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information on the phone, through email and other written correspondence.

  • Ability to develop, modify, and evaluate/improve administrative and program procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

  • Associate's degree or higher.

  • Experience working in a financial management office setting.

  • Experience working in a correctional or secured setting.

Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
