Salary Range: $51,600 to $59,000
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Equipment Services is responsible for managing all aspects related to intercollegiate athletics equipment, part-time staff, football equipment and additional sports as assigned. This position will manage daily operations of the AARC equipment office with direct responsibility for procurement of new equipment, repair/replacement and safety assurance, inventory management, distribution, and ongoing maintenance. The Director of Equipment Services is a highly organized and detail orientated person who will establish and maintain policies and procedures along with establishing positive working relationships with equipment vendors. This position will work collaboratively with administration, coaches, student-athletes and staff to establish conditions for success by providing excellent customer service. This position will provide record keeping, stay current on appropriate licenses, warranties and service agreements for the department partnerships related to athletic equipment. This position reports directly to the Deputy Athletics Director, Internal Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Daily Operations
Supervise and manage day-to-day operations of the equipment office, including but not limited to scheduling staff, payroll, laundry services, developing processes and policy for student-athletes and staff. Fitting, issuing, and repairing sport equipment and apparel. Hire, train and manage student staff as well as full-time staff
Budgeting, Procurement, and Fiscal Management
Coordinate all departmental athletics equipment ordering, returns, including working directly with the department’s apparel representative. Projecting budget expenses and timelines for each team’s ordering needs on an annual basis. Generates financial expense report and projects rebates associated with apparel annual spend
Integrity, Compliance, and Customer Service
Creates, establishes and maintains the highest professional ethical behavior and standards with regards to NCAA, Conference, University and Department of Athletics rules and regulations. Provide the highest standards of service to student-athletes, coaches, and administration
Other duties as assigned by the Deputy AD, Internal Operations
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Five years of relevant collegiate equipment experience, preferably at the Division I or professional level
Proven ability to manage, develop, and lead team members to service all aspects of equipment operations in support of intercollegiate athletics
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of personalities, backgrounds and generations
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
Knowledge of Division I football equipment, NCAA rules and regulations
