This will include inside and outside sales calls on customers in your assigned territory. Assist customers in selecting/ordering trucks and components which best suit their business needs. Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the sale of heavy-duty vehicles. Actively find new and existing prospects outside of the dealership. Provide follow-up and ongoing service to existing customers. Provide excellent service to all walk-in and call-in customers on assigned floor days. Deliver new trucks and be able to explain new-truck warranty and service policies. Study truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application on a continuous basis. Appraise used trucks when necessary. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Additional duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Activities require a full range of motion including handling, lifting, manual dexterity, finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. This position may require standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time. This position may require the occasional ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. This position requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. This position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated customer service excellence . Proven ability to work well in a team. Ability to obtain a CDL. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to represent the company in a professional manner. Ability to successfully complete a general abilities assessment, pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Three to five years of experience selling medium to heavy trucks.
