Primary Responsibilities The candidate must have a background in environmental and related infrastructure development services pertaining to the transmission, renewables, pipelines, and emerging technologies. The position will focus on environmental planning, documentation, permitting, and compliance strategy development and execution for multiple projects and programs across HDR's portfolio of projects and clients in these industries. The position encompasses five primary roles: Senior Technical Advisor/Subject Matter Expert Quality Control Reviewer Client Development, Client Management and Business Planning Staff Mentor Project Manager (as needed) In the role of Senior Environmental Scientist, responsibilities will include: Plan and advise medium- to large-size environmental planning and compliance projects for transmission, renewables, pipelines, and emerging technologies, and other programs as identified Prepare, plan and analyze/review Route and Site Permit applications, state EA/EIS, feasibility studies/critical issues analyses, and similar reports/documents Accomplish work independently and through working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which may include engineers, planners, environmental scientists, attorneys, and real estate experts Preparing and monitoring scopes and budgets for environmental projects/programs Support regional or national projects in specific areas of technical expertise Be involved in public participation and agency coordination Support development of consistent technical quality across a program Mentor for junior and mid-level technical staff Involvement in business development and client management activities including, scope and fee development, preparation of proposals and presentation delivery. Serve as Project Manager on projects, including developing and managing budgets, schedules, and quality of products, as needed Perform other duties as needed *LI-BC1 Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environment Science or closely related field 10 years experience in complex environmental planning/compliance projects Demonstrated knowledge of the NEPA process Experience managing large, complex EIS documents for transportation, large facility, land management, or other infrastructure projects Technical expertise in the design, implementation, interpretation and presentation of data for environmental studies and investigations in specialized discipline Proficient with MS Office Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Staff management experience beneficial An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
