Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced accounts receivable specialist to join our client's team and offer additional support for a long-term need. This individual will provide attention to detail, have strong data entry experience, and be willing to learn. As an Experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will lead the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and effective credit management. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining strong customer relationships, optimizing cash flow, and providing valuable insights to improve financial operations. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for a seasoned professional in the field of accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing and Billing:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely generation of invoices for products/services provided.

  • Ensure billing information is complete, including contract terms, pricing, and purchase orders.

  • Review and approve invoices before distribution to customers.

  • Payment Processing and Allocation:

  • Manage the recording and application of customer payments with precision.

  • Reconcile payments received with invoices and resolve any discrepancies or variances.

  • Allocate payments to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices.

  • Credit Management:

  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and establish credit limits in coordination with the finance team.

  • Monitor customer accounts for credit holds, collections, and risk assessment.

  • Implement and enforce credit and collections policies to minimize bad debt risk.

  • Collections and Resolution:

  • Lead efforts to collect on past-due accounts through proactive communication and follow-up.

  • Negotiate payment plans, settlements, and payment extensions with customers as needed.

  • Resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Customer Relations and Communication:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key customer accounts regarding billing and payment issues.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns and inquiries promptly.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payments and resolve issues.

  • Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on accounts receivable aging, collections status, and cash flow projections.

  • Analyze trends in payment patterns and customer behaviors to identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to management based on financial data analysis.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, credit management, and accounts receivable best practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
