Job Purpose Summary

  • We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit who excels in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment to join our team. The primary role will be to support the Global Operations function in activities related to New Product Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Project Management in Corza Ophthalmology.

What you will do

  • Initiate projects for insourcing of products.

  • Initiate, lead, and participate in continuous improvement using appropriate Lean tools.

  • Recommends and implements equipment and tools necessary to support process improvement and new processes implementations.

  • Improve productivity by performing ergonomic evaluations, time studies, simulation, and line balancing.

  • Supports in creation and streamlining of plant layouts and facility maintenance activities.

  • Support production team as required ensuring a continuous flow of material to meet requirements.

  • Manages, writes, and performs process validations for process changes as well as new processes.

  • Processes Engineering Change Notices as necessary to support changes.

  • Routinely reports progress, activity status, and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Works in a team environment, accomplishing any other duties as required by the company.

  • Analyze data gathered from testing, validations, root cause analysis, etc.

  • Support the Business Unit Buyer Planner to streamline any given supply chain processes.

  • Work with on-site engineering, quality, and production support teams to support any sustaining tasks and projects.

  • Create part specifications, work instructions, drawings, and other quality system documents needed for purchasing, assembly, packaging, labeling, and inspection of product.

  • Create and execute process validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for new processes and equipment along with respective reports.

  • Optimize assembly flow and process.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

  • 95% or better on-time delivery.

  • Reduce outsourcing by 50% for 2024.

  • Year over year improvement in complaints and non-conformances.

  • Year over year improvement in product cost.

What you will need

  • Punctual, acceptable attendance.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be able to work efficiently and in an organized manner.

  • Proficiency in creating and manipulation of Excel spreadsheets.

  • Proficient in PowerPoint.

  • Ability to interact with diverse sets of people.

  • Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Preferred: working knowledge/experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, MiniTab, Lean manufacturing principles, Mastercam, Programming Wire EDM, and Programming of Swiss Lathes.

  • Able to travel a minimum of 25%.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required plus 10 years’ experience or Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years’ experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of Medical Device Manufacturing Experience.
