Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The primary responsibility of this position is working with Production Operators in the transfer and shipping of controlled substances from the St. Louis Plant as well as serving as a back to the vital functions of the custom packaging operations of the controlled substances business.

This position is responsible for coordinating controlled substance moves throughout the St. Louis Plant as well as inventory accuracy, transactions, and reconciliation including managing the weekly cycle counts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with Operators to coordinate accurate shipments (documents, labels, transactions, etc.).

  • Provide Lead Operator with documents/instructions for daily tasks.

  • Maintain and review all executed batch records, as needed.

  • Research and resolve BPCS discrepancies.

  • Coordinate outbound/inbound transfers.

  • Process return goods into JDE system as needed.

  • Perform ABC Cycle Count.

  • Ensure samples (finished goods, in-process, R&D) are accounted for in the system and around the plant.

  • Ensure compliance with government agencies for current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as applicable for production (i.e., OSHA, FDA, DEA, DOT, EPA and any others that may apply).\

  • Observe all safety rules.

  • Ensure inventory management and reconciliation (cycle count).

  • Ensure transaction timeliness and accuracy.

  • Ensure shipping accuracy.

  • Communicate well with internal and external customers and groups (CSR, Quality, etc.).

  • Ensure samples (finished goods, in-process, R&D) are accounted for in the system and around the plant.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High School Diploma/or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum of five years directly related experience

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic Inventory Systems and Inventory Management Systems

  • Knowledgeable in supply chain functions including production planning, procurement and logistics

  • Use logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft applications, MRP systems (such as JD Edwards and Business Planning and Control System)

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work with others and collaborate to solve problems

Other Skills:

Microsoft Office experience, Computer experience, as well as experience with BPCS and JD Edwards.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

This position reports to the Focus Factory Manager, located in St. Louis, MO and interacts with planners, production operators, lead operators, engineers and QA/Batch Record Reviewers on a daily basis. This position also interacts with finance, DEA group, QAD, purchasing and shift supervisors as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position interacts frequently with employees in a manufacturing environment. Some work is performed in an office setting.

80% of time spent in office environment which includes sitting or long periods of time and computer use.

20% of time in the manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature, noise, chemicals and potent compounds.
