Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Division of Biostatistics. The position is located at Becker Medical Library. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Statistical Data Analyst performs innovative data analysis and/or data management expertly using statistical packages. Assists investigators in the design of experiments, clinical trials, and epidemiological studies. May be required to assume major responsibility on large projects including, but not limited to, developing institutional and study-specific data management plans, creating multicenter trial protocols, validating and applying clinical trial databases. It is anticipated that this position will collaborate with departmental research teams and institutional clinical trial support units including the Center for Clinical Studies (CCS, the institution’s central clinical trials office) and the Trial-CARE support center which provides specialized expertise to support the design and implementation of investigator-initiated, especially multi-center, clinical trials. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs data analysis and/or data management using the latest and best methodologies as implemented in statistical packages (SAS) including generation of tables and graphs. 2. Advises and assists investigators in the design of experiments, clinical trials and epidemiological studies. 3. Assists in data base design, implementation and maintenance of data collected over time for research purposes, including acquisition, editing and reporting. 4. May assist in design, development, validation, and testing of data entry systems, data management plans, standard operating procedure documents, and data management platforms. 5. Functions as an expert statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community. 6. Assumes major/exclusive responsibilities on large projects. 7. Trains and/or supervises Statistical Data Analyst level staff. 8. Assists investigators by preparing publication quality material including sections for manuscripts and grants. Required Qualifications * Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree. * Three to five years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications * Master’s degree in statistics, computer science or a related field. * Expert knowledge base and experience with SAS and high degree of proficiency in data analysis and data management. * PC/UNIX knowledge. * Skills and demonstrated success in designing and executing appropriate statistical data analysis. * Capable of assuming a leadership role. * Experience with investigator-initiated clinical trials and related data platforms and resources. * Well-developed oral and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to think critically and prioritize time-sensitive deliverables. * Seeks out and facilitates learning opportunities. * Familiarity with 21 CRF Part 11 and ICH Quality Guidelines is a plus. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $56,472 - $73,403 annually.
