Position Summary

Quality Assurance and Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories department is comprised of talented individuals who possess a genuine love for pets and their families. As a Microbiology Quality Technician, you’ll perform routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using standard laboratory methods and techniques. Collaboration with other technicians and scientists to ensure efficient workflow will be essential in this role. We’ll count on you and your team to contribute to quality assurance efforts for the organization.

  • Prepare and perform routine to more complex analyses per NPAL methods.

  • Read and record results of analyses, making sure to keep identification numbers matched with correct samples

  • Operate basic laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, spectrophotometer, autoclave, etc.

  • Wash glassware, clean equipment, and maintain 5S in all areas of the laboratory as required

  • Function as primary data generator, record and calculate data, and maintain proper documentation

  • Assure quality of results by assisting with establishment and maintenance of quality assurance documents, plans, and ICPs

  • Assure equipment is maintained in reliable working order and make repairs or modifications within the capability of the Technician or request repairs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field

  • 1+ years of professional experience working in a microbiology quality laboratory

  • 1+ years of experience with rapid method techniques for pathogen detection

Other

  • Must be willing to work Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00AM – 3:30PM.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.

  • Ability to lift 50+lbs

Environment includes exposure to Top 14 Allergens.

The approximate pay range for this position is $42,000.00 to $60,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
